Top 8 Health Benefits of Meditation

One of the most effective ways to be more physically, mentally and emotionally healthy is to practice meditation. In fact, meditation has multiple arrays of benefits to our mind, soul, and body. I, personally was surprised about what I had discovered after meditation.

And now, I’ll be sharing to you the top 8 health benefits of meditation that I gained.

1.Weight Loss

Most of us tend to binge eating particularly when we are stressed to our works, deadlines, personal issues and etc. I’ll admit it, I’m one of those “emotional eaters” who use food as a way of cheering myself up but not until I discovered meditation. This is now my go-to activity every time, I’m stressed.  (Mornings are my favorite time)

2. Reduce Stress

If ever you’re feeling stressed about something, temporarily scrap it. Take a break; do a meditation. It will make you less stressed as it lowers our blood pressure, slows our respiration and it calms our mind and soul.

3. Better Sleep

I used to suffer from chronic insomnia. By the time I was ready for bed, my mind was largely preoccupied with a lot of things. But I observed that after I do some meditations for a week, I’m starting to have a night of better sleep and I was not thinking too much at all. Most of us find as our mind relaxes, our bodies follow suit.

4. Improve Mind’s Creativity

Indeed, when you meditate you usually relaxing your mind, and clearing all your daily life clutters which helps us think of more creative ideas. When you’re suffering from mental burn-out, meditating is the best way to do.

5. Emotional Control

When you’re facing a lot of problems, sometimes our mood changes. We became more emotional in dealing with our daily tasks, or works. But if you regularly meditate, you’ll have better control over your mood swings.

6. Improve Productivity

If you tend to procrastinate every time you’re doing something, maybe you’re lacking self-focus and motivation. If you do so, consider having a meditation first before actually doing something for the day. This will surely, make your day productive as you’re highly motivated after meditating.

7. Relieves depression

Meditation relieves depression and anxiety because when we are meditating we are freeing our mind to stressful, frightening and painful things happening in our life. Through meditation, we can maintain more positive vibes and outlook in life as we are practicing to have a peaceful mind.

8.  Increase Self-awareness

When our mind is at peace and our body is relaxed we normally think of our goals, what we want and what we need in life and this makes us more aware of ourselves. Discovering who we really are.

I hope these 8 benefits of meditation enlighten you and convince you to do meditation for a healthy body and mind and for a better and longer life.
